Wayne Vizard

Wayne is a talented “multi instrumentalist” with a great voice.
Playing professionally throughout the 70’s touring with Rock and Pop bands, such as, Pipers Moon. Then in 1979 he joined Carnaby singer Mick and formed Dawn Trader, who became one of the leading lights in the New Wave of British Heavy Metal Bands. Performing with major artists like Def Leppard and writing and recording with Whitesnakes Bernie Marsden, their own music still influences young US and Canadian bands and is in demand in Japan, leading to the band writing and recording a new album to be released 2010. Wayne is a prolific song writer.
After Dawn Trader broke up he played with a popular band Fire Brigade along with earning a living! He was then approached by a former Dawn Trader guitarist to move to sunnier climes. He moved to the Canaries where he lived and played for several years, before returning to London to bring up a family.
Continuing to do session work he returned home to Nottingham.
Wayne formed a fun band Far Canal with old school friends and they still play every now and then, He is always in demand to work with other bands when Carnabys schedule allows.
His love of the blues saw him playing with Free tribute band Free and Co with former Dawn Trader Bassist Ric Evans and playing bass for a while with 60s band the Crew with Carnaby drummer Andy as the frontman..
He formed the highly respected Morpheus with Mick and Bob before rejoining them in Carnaby Rocks. Wayne also plays with Toasted Frog revisiting his blues roots.
Wayne teaches music and is always keen to encourage and runs a jam session in the Nottingham area to hopefully encourage up and coming musicians.
